Financial Modeling Manager

 

The Financial Modeling Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of project and engagement management for clients in a wide variety of industries for deal advisory, M&A (sell-side and buy-side) and other transactions and other operational and corporate planning purposes (e.g., budgeting and forecasting, return on investment analysis, corporate structuring). This individual will play a key role in client management, practice development and business development.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop complex financial analyses and financial models to support engagements within a variety of industries, including (but not limited to): technology, life sciences, retail and consumer products, and manufacturing & distribution
  • Take ownership of all aspects of Financial Modeling and Analytics for engagements throughout the transaction process
  • Serve as the day-to-day point person for all financial modeling needs on engagements, and always ready to lead meetings and calls with clients and firm management
  • Work closely with team members at all levels to promptly identify areas of needs from a modeling and decision analytics perspective
  • Communicate with internal and external clients at all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives while conveying knowledge and confidence
  • Seek to improve internal processes, procedures, analyses, and models
  • Manage business development activities, such as proposals, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership material
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and cross-sell services

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

  • 6+ years of related work experience working in a financial modeling/business analytics team, Investment Bank, or Private Equity/Fund, specifically for transactional, deal advisory and M&A purposes
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree is preferred
  • CFA or progress towards obtaining the CFA is required. CPA is a plus
  • Superior Microsoft Excel, VBA, and financial modeling skills, including 3-statement financial forecasting, scenario analysis, trends analysis, variance analysis, and other strategic decision analytics
  • Demonstrated experience, strong current knowledge and proficiency in corporate finance, M&A, valuation, financial accounting, US GAAP
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause determination skills
  • Action-oriented, decisive approach, with the willingness to take a hands-on role to ensure the deliverables are met on time with high quality and within budget, a natural self-starter and independent thinker
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships and effectively interact directly with senior client personnel / C-Suite and key decision-makers
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (in addition to Excel): PowerPoint, Word
