CohnReznick’s National Tax (Accounting Methods) practice is a high-quality, fast-paced team serving clients across a range of industries. We assist clients by providing value added tax planning to businesses of all sizes and in all industries. As a member of the National Tax team, you will be providing technical support to Tax team members across the country.  

 Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Identifying tax accounting methods opportunities and risk areas by reviewing client financial and tax return information
  • Perform tax research and write memoranda to answer complex tax accounting methods issues
  • Prepare automatic and non-automatic Forms 3115 and Forms 1128
  • Performing 263A (UNICAP) and LIFO calculations as needed
  • Perform Tangible Property Regulation studies as needed
  • Provide internal and external technical trainings in support of the Firm’s growth and marketing efforts
  • Prepare tax alerts as needed describing recent tax cases, legislation, and IRS/Treasury Department guidance

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university
  • CPA or JD required
  • 5 or more years of experience in public accounting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information
  • Ability to travel occasionally to client sites and CohnReznick offices, which may include overnight accommodations
  • Ability to work effectively on a team
  • Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters in Taxation or LLM (Tax)
    • 3-4 years of specific experience working with tax accounting methods and inventory
    • Experience managing and/or performing multiple projects simultaneously
