As a Paraprofessional on the Trust & Estate tax team you will contribute to client compliance engagements. The compliance team is a specialized team that helps ensure clients meet their tax compliance requirements, and team members enjoy a rewarding career in a broad range of technical industries. This individual will work predominately with our trust and estate clients, as well as high net worth individuals. This position offers opportunity for you to demonstrate your expertise in tax research, tax planning, preparation of complex 1040, 1041, 706 and 709 returns. In addition, to succeed in this role you will:

  • Prepare complex gift, estate and fiduciary income tax returns;
  • Prepare fiduciary accounting for trusts and estates;
  • Provide tax planning and consulting to high net worth clients for estate and individual income taxes;
  • Research and consult on various estate, gift and trust related issues, such as trustee and beneficiary issues, Crummey obligations and generation skipping tax issues; 
  • Interacting with client to gather data required to prepare and file different returns
  • Preparing and reviewing returns and reconciliation schedules
  • Assist in project coordination including work flow, deadline management, and scheduling
  • Scheduling and setting appointments with clients and internal team
  • Following up with team members and clients regarding outstanding items
  • Assist other team members with the delivery of engagements as needed, including legal research and writing reports, activity narratives regarding technical issues
  • Assist team with documentation analysis and other administrative duties

 

Required Skills:

  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • 3-5 years with professional services firm
  • Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding with Microsoft Software’s (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and handle the pressure of working within tight deadlines
  • Required to solve problems with limited information, often in short time frames.
  • Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with firm and client personnel at all levels
  • Ability to work overtime as required
