We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Business Valuation Senior Consultant to join our team in the Virtual Advisory office.

YOUR TEAM

This position will support our Valuation Advisory group.  This group provides a wide suite of services to clients, giving you the opportunity to learn, grow, and build out your skills. As a member of this team, you’ll interact with team members across all levels within the practice.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Work on business valuation engagements for financial reporting, transactions, tax, and corporate planning.
  • Explore and learn about the valuation issues in various industries including (but not limited to): technology, life sciences, emerging markets, retail & consumer products, hospitality, and manufacturing & distribution.
  • Develop financial models and conduct valuations of business entities, intangible assets, and common stock using various valuation methodologies (DCF, guideline public company method, comparative M&A transactions method, MPEEM, relief from royalty method, etc.).
  • Perform company, market, industry, and economic research and analyses.
  • Review and analysis of financial, corporate, legal agreements and other documents.
  • Maintain active communication with supervisors and staff throughout engagements and begin to develop client relationships.
  • Prepare and review valuation exhibits, reports, and client deliverables.
  • Supervise, train, and develop staff.
  • Conduct financial statement analysis (e.g., common size analysis, ratio analysis, trend analysis, and industry comparative analysis).
  • Work closely with team members at all levels to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

Successful Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or related field, with progress towards completing an ASA, ABV, and/or CFA certification.
  • 2-4 years business valuation experience including business entities, common stock/ownership interests, and intangible assets.
  • In-depth understanding of corporate finance, valuation approaches (income, cost, and market approaches) and accounting concepts, including GAAP financial statements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to organize and work on multiple engagements simultaneously with competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based environment.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Action-oriented, natural self-starter and independent thinker.
  • Highly motivated and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, or additional hours as required, to meet client needs.
  • Experience working with Capital IQ.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

In New York City, the salary range for Senior Associates is $85,000 - $135,000. Salary determination will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies.
