CohnReznick is looking for a Temporary Experienced Associate to join its Government Contract Advisory Practice in support of major performance audits. The Staff Accountant works directly with all levels of the firm, including closely with Managers and Partners, and performs test work on multiple types of contract audits (“DCAA type audits”) ranging from $10M-$2B. The Staff Accountant effectively analyzes transactions to assess allowability, allocability, and reasonableness, conducts appropriate research, and works closely with Sr. Associates to resolve issues as they arise. 


Responsibilities:

  • Perform procedures in accordance with firm standards and GAGAS in an accurate, thorough and timely manner
  • Perform assigned steps such as tests and examinations of contractor's direct labor
  • Plan, perform and report contract audit assignments in connection with procurement and contracting activities between the Federal Government and the Contractor
  • Understand and apply concepts of audit risk.
  • Prepare work papers that are informative, indexed, cross-referenced and can easily be understood and explained.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • BS/BA in Accounting;
  • Good analytical, technical, and auditing skills including knowledge of GAGAS
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook; audit software, and Caseware / CCH Engagement Manager experience a plus
  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • U.S. Citizen
