CohnReznick, a top National Advisory, Assurance and Tax accounting firm, currently has an exciting career opportunity for an Advisory Resource Manager. 

Reporting to the Resource Management Advisory Service Line Leader, the Resource Manager is an integrated part of the Global Consulting Services practice. In this role, you will be highly collaborative with the business leaders, engagement leads, the People & Culture (P&C) Field Manager, Learning & Development and Talent Acquisition to effectively manage the resource management function in support of the business strategies and objectives. You will also be uniquely positioned to build value added relationships with the team members to support their goals and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and deployment of resources with a mindset of assigning the right resources to the right project, maximizing gross margin, maintaining/surpassing utilization targets and driving cross population of resources across Advisory, Tax and Assurance practices
  • Utilize RM reports and analytical tools to track and manage planned hours, production targets, utilization and utlization variance.
  • Manager and leverage offshore RM resources for report generation and analytical insights
  • Work closely with the partners and service line leaders to track and plan holistically, considering prospective (pipeline) work, active engagements, and internal initiatives/training
  • Partner with the People & Culture Field Manager and Talent Acquisition to maintain supply and demand of open resource roles, and to monitor and support recruiting efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with employees and service line leads to always have a good understanding of skills, capabilities, and aspirations; ensuring skills profiles are maintained so the practice has good line of sight into their resource bench
  • Work collaboratively with the business to provide input to workforce planning, development needs, and to give insight to skills gaps to support the service line strategies and goals
  • Education and promotion of consistent and efficient resource management policies and procedures
  • Collaboratively work with People & Culture and performance coaches to provide input to performance development and review discussions
  • Assist with and be able to give meaningful input to Advisory RM and RM Center of Excellence process improvement and technology implementation projects

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • A flexible attitude to the working hours is necessary as the role is required to work effectively across multiple time zones
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, in a fast-paced environment through strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • As this role is 90% virtual, the individual must be comfortable working remotely (i.e., via conference calls, MST Video etc.) and traveling 10% when needed
  • Ability to create, deliver and present materials at a C-Suite level and provide input into executive communications and presentations. Executive presence and acumen are essential to influence outcomes in support of our “One Firm” mission and “People Priorities”
  • Experience creating successful and productive high level working relationships as a means of driving strategy, process design, development, and implementation
  • Ability to recognize and highlight potential issues and barriers during the planning of assignments, and providing recommendation for resolution
  • Ability to gain knowledge of the internal and external business environment quickly and effectively. Knowing the business, is essential to be successful in this role
  • Proven experience in a planning environment, conflict negotiation, value proposition to manage change and obtain agreement in support of our people priorities
  • Strong leadership ability, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and analytical skills to identify business trends and drive initiatives

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of resource or workforce management experience within a Professional Services organization.
  • Minimum of 8 + years of management experience with developing and coaching teams, defining career paths based on career goals, performance management, employee relations and people management.
  • Management experience in developing business processes and HRIS technology implementation.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience with financial forecasting, analytics, and workforce planning transformation.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience with a global, multi-cultural, virtual work environment preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of proficiency with Microsoft Office application, exceptional excel skills, and data analytics and telling a story to executive leaders is essential in this role.
