We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Federal Audit Sr. Consultant; Financial Review and Training Unit (FNIR) to join our team in our Tysons office.

This role will be a hybrid role.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Performs assigned tasks under direction of team leadership;
  • Attend meetings as needed, participating in team collaboration to ensure project completion.
  • Review current workflow and processes in the Foreign and Headquarters offices;
  • Reconcile current Foreign payments and collections posted in the financial; management system to ensure compliance with State Department guidelines;
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiencies and develop an implementation plan to align processes to policy in the Foreign and Headquarters offices;
  • Perform reconciliations, and data analysis for Foreign payment transactions and they will assist in clearing any backlog of Foreign transactions;
  • Monitor payment and collections transactions on a continuous basis to ensure compliance with policy and new business processes.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

Successful Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of Federal fund accounting principles, procedures, and
  • S. Government Standard General Ledger.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in federal accounting.
  • Experience in auditing Federal financial operations, preferably compliance reviews of federal financial processes.
  • Knowledge and experience related to automated financial management systems, including accounting and budget systems used by Federal agencies, preferably Momentum Financial Systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to motivate others.
  • Proficiency in the use of Windows Office Software, i.e., Access, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
