We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a R&D Credit Services – Associate to join our National Tax practice.

 

YOUR TEAM.

This position will support the R&D Credit Services Team, which in turn supports the firm’s National Tax practice. The right candidate will be highly motivated and look for ways to expand their knowledge within both the tax technical aspects of R&D credit services and varying industries. They will also be proactive, eager to learn, an effective communicator, with the goal of assisting their team in servicing both internal and external clients.

YOUR ROLE. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist and lead key aspects of R&D credit studies and related activities to ensure all engagements are conducted in accordance to practice standards, completed on time, and within budget including conducting fieldwork to assisting with client deliverables
  • Demonstrate time management skills, proper prioritization of projects, personal time, completing work in a timely manner, and avoiding PTO and personal time during critical times for the year
  • Provide proactive in project updates to team members
  • Assist other team members with the delivery of engagements as needed
  • Conduct self-review of work papers and deliverables
  • Ability to communicate well when you’re overwhelmed, overworked, and need help and present ideas for potential solutions

 

YOUR EXPERIENCE. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • 6 months – 2 years’ experience on R&D credit projects
  • Eligible to sit for or have made progress toward CPA, J.D./LL.M., EA or Project Management Professional
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to evaluate and articulate complex information via email, phone, and video
  • Familiarity of R&D credit study engagement process and ability to navigate through various stages
  • Familiarity of topics include: Controlled groups, changes in ownership, funded research, utilization, Payroll Tax Credit
  • Able to explain in simple terms the R&D tax credit
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously with a team and independently
  • Candidate will be required to read and study relevant tax material related to R&D credit rules
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access and use of the internet
